If someone took a poll
and asked, "What would be the most important thing you could do to change
the present social, moral and spiritual atmosphere of America, and the
world?" I suppose there would be many answers given. We all can agree that
the world is surely in need of some changes for the better. If I were to try
to answer this question, I would not even suggest trying to change the
attitudes of present adults. I think it is too late for bringing about
change in this manner. I would say we need to train young people who are
still growing up today and will one day be our councilmen, police chiefs,
mayors, governors and even our presidents. Would it not be great if the ones
chosen for those positions of leadership had a strong background in the
teachings of righteousness provided by God's Word and were dedicated to
following it?
Surprise Valley Youth Camp is dedicated to providing young people an
opportunity to grow in social, moral and spiritual graces, which will place
them head and shoulders above the world's average young person. I believe
that the most important job I can possibly have is, providing a place that
provides the teaching that can do this for the young people of our day. Our
young people need well-rounded, seasoned and mature adults for role models.
If we select our camp workers right, every adult and young adult, who
attends has an opportunity to fulfill that task. This world needs young
people who are well taught and who practice in their lives the principles,
which God has set forth in His Word, for the well-being of mankind. I
believe that my work at Surprise Valley Youth Camp is one of the greatest
works in which I could have ever engaged. Why do I believe that? Because I
have an opportunity to impact, for the better, the lives of young people
that God has put on this earth for a purpose.
Wouldn't it be a thrill to some day say of one of our presidents, "I knew
him when he was a child, I was his instructor at Surprise Valley Youth
Camp." Parents, please send your children to Surprise Valley Youth Camp.
They will grow in a wonderful way from the experience.
